Believe in yourself

I love the gift test and other similar assessments. they can be such a validation to not only the 12 day life appraisal process, but even just to our own intuition and knowing. Babies and young children just so what comes naturally to them – without judgement, without thinking what other people might think – without fear.

Why did adults and society then teach us fear, teach us “no, you can’t do that” or “that’s not appropriate” or “that probably won’t work. And why do some many of us then repeat the pattern that we know is not accurate?  I know I’ve been guilty of it myself… even with knowledge, it can be hard to break the cyce of self doubt and fear.

I like the different definitions of FEAR that I’ve heard

False Expectations Appearing Real

False Evidence Appearing Real

Face Everything And Recover

False Emotions Appearing Real

and of course there are others. The main point is that fear is only a feeling, it doesn’t have to be a fact. We get to choose how we react to even our own feeings. It’s not easy, but worth it if we keep practicing making choices that increase our belief in ourself, that are positives that make us feel better, that encourage and reinforce our goals and dreams.

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time.  You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein” from  ~Life’s Little Instruction Book, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
